living sculptures
Please enjoy this selection of favourite images from my ongoing experimentation with living, growing, breathing sculptures.
ceramic sculptures
In this gallery you will find my recent works in clay. I have been experimenting with different methods of working
like handbuilding layer by layer, throwing on the pottery wheel, extruding elements, and working from a live
model. Each method lends a different character and offers a wholly different set of challenges and opportunities.
ossified series
These works were created in collaboration with Maria Shironoshita (@Maria.shironoshita) exploring the complexities of interpersonal relationships. The fluxuations in surface texture evoke the physicality of emotion marking the softness and harshness that we inflict on each other and ourselves visible.
Both artists work refining the sculptures from sharp, craggly, rough casts into flowing fluid compositions, carefully and lovingly refined until smooth. The process makes healing visible, as we work and with each other we shift the balance from harsh to soft, and bring acceptance to the untouchable.
