Madison Melley (she/her) is an emerging visual artist from Alberta, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with Distinction from the University of Alberta. Melley's artistic practice revolves around sculpture and installation, employing mediums such as ceramics, plaster, wood, chocolate, sugar, and living plant material to examine the relationships between our bodies, our food, and the cyclical habits of the natural world. In her most recent body of work, Melley translates her lived experiences into abstracted interpretations of her internal narrative and emotional landscape. She examines the way internal and external pressures impact form, working with ceramic multiples assembled into larger compositions.

She has exhibited work in Edmonton at Rutherford Galleria, FAB Gallery, and the Art Gallery of Alberta - Community Gallery. Notably, Melley has been awarded the C. D. Howe Graduation Award from the Royal Canadian Academy of Art, Eva Toban Scholarship, Faculty of Arts Leadership Award, Universiade '83 Scholarship, Jason Lang Scholarship, and Alexander Rutherford Scholarship over the course of her degree. Outside of her individual practice, Melley also works in collaboration with Maria Shironoshita, creating large scale abstract sculptures and installations.
